Kind words from Runcorn Town President Roy Roberts

Hi Newcastle Benfield

Just a word of thanks for the great welcome and the friendly atmosphere
received at your ground by our club on Saturday.

Especially the lovely car park attendant in the tracksuit top who guided
our coach in, he knew ex Runcorn FC player and manager John Williams.

When ever we travel to the North East it is always the same, a lovely
warm welcome followed by a hard match. Wish I lived there I’d be with
you lot.

I was so sad to hear of your loss last week, I must have met him last
year when we visited you but so sorry to admit I can’t place his face.

I have read the programme and seen the many tributes made to Jimmy, he
would have been so pleased. His family will have really felt your
tribute to him.

Runcorn Town FC were grateful and proud to stand with you all and
applaud his massive input into what is now a superbly run impressve
football club.

It was also pleasing to see the many young boys and girls in your kit,
you should be very proud of yourselves for achieving so much for your
community.

Thank you once again for involving us in the tribute to Mr Rowe.

Best Regards

Roy Roberts

president

Runcorn Town FC

ps… I am 2 years older than Jimmy, you made me think very deeply
whilst sat enjoying my John Smiths in your bar.
