Ross McKay announced as New First Team Coach

Newcastle Benfield are delighted to announce the appointment of new First Team Coach Ross McKay.

“I’m very excited to be a part of Newcastle Benfield. I took my first session on Tuesday night after agreeing terms with Tom on Monday. It’s a pleasure to be working with someone with such vast experience at senior level as Tom has. Personally I am always looking to develop myself as I believe this will in turn develop the players I work with. We have some top quality at the club both on the pitch and behind the scenes, with exciting times ahead for the club as a whole. I’m looking forward to a positive season both in the league and cup competitions”

Ross has experience in the professional game after playing at clubs such as Man Utd, Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers amongst others. After retiring in 2004, Ross moved into coaching and developed over a number of years through his coaching licences with the PFA and gained experience at collegiate level, academy level and internationally with Manchester City. Ross is currently closing in at the end of his UEFA A Licence and is the current Director of Football with Evolution Football Coaching where he heads up the growth and development of young players here in the North East at Kingsmeadow Football Academy and Durham Federation Football Academy.
