Saturday the 8th September Newcastle Benfield host Workington AFC in the Emirates FA Cup first qualifying round.
The Workington Reds play 2 Divisions above the Lions in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League and make the 94 mile 2 hour journey from Cumbria to Sam Smiths Park.
If our opponents get lost on the way over the Pennines they can use their Left back to remind them where we play.

Leading up to this game Workington’s run of form has been similar to Benfield’s in their respective league however the winner of this Cup tie will be awarded £6000 so there is a lot to play for.
Workington’s management team consists of Dave Hewson and Lee Andrews Read David Hewson’s thoughts regarding his teams current form and our forthcoming fixture in the Cumbria Newspaper News and Star.
Workington will be without current top Goalscorer Jason Walker who is suspended but will have last seasons top Goalscorer Scott Allison who is available for selection.

We need a reaction from Wednesday it was unacceptable and simply won’t be accepted the lads know and were left in no uncertain terms what we expect and the levels we need to perform too we expect a reaction on Saturday against a good and well drilled higher ranked team!
